Pre-inspection:
- Overall condition will be assessed via images/videos sent by customer prior to acceptance of the restoration project and the power steering assembly mailed or dropped off to us
Pre-break Down Bench Testing:
Tear down:
- Additional physical general inspection of power steering pump and components upon arrival to us
- Complete disassembly of the power steering pump and associated components
Restoration:
- Power steering pump body and all hardware/brackets are vapor honed
**Deep pitting/gouges/scratches or imperfections may not be removed via our VH process**
- All hardware and brackets are zinc plated with yellow chromate (Other colors upon request and availability)
**While zinc plating will refresh the surface of all steel components, any deep pitting or imperfections may still be present after plating.**
- All threaded holes are chased with a tap to ensure all debris is removed
Re-assembly:
- Brand new bearing is installed using a hydraulic press
- Brand new seal kit is installed
- Brand new OEM Mazda reservoir is installed (New reservoir does not come with strainer or cap)
- Brand OEM Mazda new rubber hose and clamps are installed to connect the power steering pump to the reservoir
- Zinc plated hardware/brackets are installed
- Brand new copper banjo washers are included for high pressure line connection
- Original pressure switch assembly is cleaned and re-used
Post Re-assembly Bench Testing:
Turn around time for complete restoration is about 4 weeks.
